I was the only designer at the small start-up team which allowed me to work on a variety of products from shoes to soft goods. While interning at Xena the main priority was the users, and specifically how these users were women and making products that were safe, comfortable, and stylish for them.
The metatarsal boot takes safety one step further than the standard toe-protective boot, by offering coverage and protection to the entire metatarsal bone. Current boots on the market are not designed with women's needs in mind.

During this internship, I also took on projects oriented around CMF and textiles. During these projects, I focused on following the company's current brand language while also focusing on current trends and listening to what the consumers wanted.
